Southern Charm

Charleston, South Carolina, how I love you so!  I love this town for so many reasons and have too many fond memories to share, but here are a few.  It is the epitome of southern charm; from the homes, to the food, to how insanely nice the people are there, this town holds a very special place in my heart.  I was lucky enough to live there briefly and visit often for many years.  The last time I was there was in 2008, and haven’t had a chance to go back until now.  It was even prettier than I remember!  I had such a great time walking around, looking at all of the most beautiful homes, eating at my fav spots, and seeing all of the new places that have popped up since the last time I was there.   It was definitely an incredible trip!

I stayed at the Mills House downtown, which was a first, and loved it!  It was beautiful and the location was perfect for walking basically anywhere.  On this day, I was out and about tooling around Queen St. and checking out some art galleries.  I wanted to wear something chic, but also comfortable.  Of course, I had on my winter fav boots, the Stuart Weitzman highland, which have never failed me.  I had to wear a pop of color in my jeans because if you know anything about the south, people like color there.  They wear color all year long!  It worked perfectly because the black boots tied in with the black in my top and hat and then I had the pop of color on my legs.  Fashion tip:  I put a single long necklace with this top because it has a crew neck, in order to lengthen my torso some.  Only so much I can do there, ha!

A black handbag seemed a little harsh, so I opted for a neutral bag.  I have loved this Céline Mini Belt bag for a while, and when it came out in this dark taupe color for the Spring 2016 collection, I knew it was a must!  Not only do I love the shape and color, but it’s so lightweight and easy to carry with either the top handle or the single shoulder strap.  So perfect for those days where you’re out and about, running around town.  A lot of people question purchasing a nude or neutral colored handbag, so here is a prime example of how it is not just a “practical purchase”, but how it really can be a fun bag!  Even if you’re someone who wears a ton of black, a neutral bag really stands out against a black outfit.  I’ll show you some more ways to wear this bag in later posts, so stay tuned!

xo,

Christian
