#appreciate!

Looking for the perfect New Year’s dress?  Well, here you go!  This Topshop dress is so easy to wear and will work on a number of different body types.  I decided to put a belt with it because it was a little loose fitting.  However, if you don’t want something as fitted, wear it without the belt for not so much of a body con look.  For $230, the detail of this dress is gorgeous!  The placement of the sequins around the neck, sleeves and at the bottom make this dress look like a lot more than what it actually costs.   Topshop is my go to brand for fun, trendy and inexpensive pieces, and the best part is mixing them with designer like what I did here.  Putting on Valentino shoes and carrying a Baleniciaga bag makes this look eclectic and fun with the $20 earrings and belt that came with a skirt from Forever 21 probably like 6 or 7 years ago.  I am all about mixing and matching, high and low!

Sassy and Polished

I was freezing walking around the city on this day!  It honestly wasn’t that cold during the day when the sun was out, but once the sun was behind the clouds and going down, it started to get chilly!  I knew I wanted to wear layers that had some warmth, but not too much.  The scarf was perfect because it’s a cashmere and silk blend, so it was light enough to give just enough warmth around my neck, since the sweater is a v neck and my neck was exposed.  The sweater is a wool blend, so again, light enough to layer with a tank or you could also put a turtleneck underneath if you really needed to.  On a day that’s not that cold out, you could just wear the sweater with a black bra and call it a sassy day!

Shop ‘Til You Drop

Who’s got all of their Christmas shopping done?  Every time I feel like I’m done, I think of something else!  The mall has been crazy, which I’ve been happy to see.  I think with the increasing amount of online shopping, we were all wondering if the stores would be as busy.   It has been SO busy, and I love it and continue to be very appreciative for my customers and the relationships we have.  I am seriously one of “those people” who love their job!

Pugs and Kisses

This is the last ‘Festive Friday’ post before Christmas, and I can’t believe that Christmas is in one week!  I wanted to show this dress as something that is festive and could be worn to a brunch or luncheon or even to a Christmas Eve service at church.  It’s so sweet and girly and totally makes me think of Charlotte from Sex and the City!  I couldn’t resist putting the Valentino Rockstud bag with it to give the look just a touch of edginess.  Customers ask all the time if the Rockstud collection will be going out of style soon.  I actually get asked that a lot, and the answer is no.  The Rockstud collection has really become Valentino’s classic and is what they’re known for, so it’s definitely here to stay for the foreseeable future.  Every time we get them in at Nordstrom, they blow out of stock, both shoes and bags.  Personally, I am a huge fan, and think they are worth the investment!  Oh, and meet my baby girl Maya..yes, she’s the pug and she’s really 8, but will always be my baby.

Pugs and kisses,

Christian

Tasteful Textures

It was still super warm in Miami when we shot these pictures, so I thought I would give you some other outfit options if you happen to be in cooler weather.  Most of us in Tampa are dying for some lower temps!  It’s still in the low 80’s here and I just want to wear a darn sweater haha!

Home for the Holidays

Looking for a festive sweater that gives a nod to the season without overdoing it?  Well, girls, this is it!  You could wear this outfit on Christmas Day if you’re just going to be hanging out with family and doing something casual.  It’s so comfy and cozy, just like all of Autumn Cashmere sweaters are.  They never disappoint!  It’s a little on the shorter side, so for me it’s perfect because I’m definitely short waisted.  For someone who is more normal or even long in the torso, I would suggest wearing a high waisted pant, skirt or pair of jeans with the sweater.

Bright Colors + Skulls

This outfit is a prime example of how you can take inexpensive accessories and mix with a designer outfit and nobody would ever know.  One of my customers actually gave me this scarf that she got on the street in New York for $5 after I complimented her on it.  I told her that I thought it looked just like Alexander McQueen, which would normally be at least $300.  Definitely a designer look for less!

Boots Made for Walkin’

I think one of the coolest things about this last trip to NYC was going to the Public Library.  Every other time I go, I do the usual..shopping, restaurants, and usually a little sight seeing downtown.  This time, since my hotel was right across the street from the Public Library, of course I had to go!    It really was incredibly beautiful, and I’m so glad I listened to the guide and went all the way up.  The paintings alone are breathtaking!  Another highlight was “meeting” the lions, Patience and Fortitude and  learning about their story.  I highly recommend going to check it out next time you’re there!

Channeling My Inner Carrie

Well, now I can die.  I had my Carrie Bradshaw moment walking down Perry Street and all around this neighborhood.  The West Village is adorable, and the owners of 66 Perry Street had their steps decorated to a T, of course!  I wanted to wear the perfect LBD and show a pop of color with none other than Manolo Blahnik’s.  I mean, let’s be real, it wouldn’t have been a true Carrie moment without Manolo’s!  I am OBSESSED with these green ones.  Y’all just have to see the color in person.  It’s beyond gorgeous!  The one that I’m wearing is called the BB Pump and was named after Brigitte Bardot and for the 50’s fashion of her time.  It is timeless, sophisticated, sexy, and is made in basically a million colors, so take your pic!

Bittersweet

I can’t imagine anyone on this planet not loving a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery in NYC or their banana pudding, for that matter.  Not only did I stop shopping to get a cupcake, I had some banana pudding too..when in New York, why not?!  I am definitely doing a juice cleanse in the next few days because it is time to reel it in!  I don’t know about y’all, but I ate so much for Thanksgiving, I still feel sick.  I literally ate Thanksgiving dinner 4 nights in a row.  I enjoyed every second of it though.  One of my friends who is an amazing cook deep fried a turkey, so I naturally felt right at home.
