One of the days we were in Charleston, we walked around the campus of the College of Charleston.  Pete (my photog and honey) went to college there and ended up living in Charleston for 8 years.  We lived there together before moving down to Tampa in 2007-08.  It was definitely a trip down memory lane to go back and visit the campus and get to photograph it.  The charm and beauty is just breathtaking.  As much time as I’ve spent there, I can tell you that…

I didn’t appreciate Charleston or the South the way that I do now.  I think I was just too young and didn’t know any different until we left and moved down here.  I love living in Tampa, but I definitely miss my roots which are every bit southern.  This was honestly my favorite day walking around the campus and hearing Pete share his college memories.  Such a fun experience for us both!

We also had an amazing time eating as much delicious food as we could.  A few restaurant highlights were these:

Halls Chophouse: incredible steakhouse; all southern side dishes; live band; food was top notch

Sugar Bakeshop: The cutest little bakery!  I had a yellow cupcake with chocolate icing and it was delicious!

Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit: Handmade biscuits, say no more!  I had one with sausage, egg and pimento cheese.  Let’s just say that was plenty for breakfast and lunch that day.

Slightly North of Broad: Also known as SNOB, this is an old school Charleston classic.  We both had the tuna entree, and it did not disappoint!

Hominy Grill: Another Charleston classic, except they serve breakfast in addition to lunch and dinner.  It’s a must to go there for any meal!

Fit Tips:  The cape runs true to size.  The Hinge tank runs small, I would suggest sizing up.  The skort runs small, I would size up one size in it.  The shoes run true to size.

Thank you so much for reading and Happy Tuesday!

Christian
