Elevation at it’s finest!

I was just talking with a customer the other day about how hard it is to find a cute and flattering, winter coat.  Especially the puffer ones.  They are all so bulky and most of the time make you look like the Michelin Man!  Nobody wants that.  When I found this Burberry one, I knew I had found the ONE!  It’s definitely fitted and has the elastic belt to cinch your waist in, and is really warm (prob the most important).  When something is fashionable and functional, it is a home run in my opinion.  I only had on a thin turtleneck underneath and was perfectly fine on this day in the mountains of North Carolina.  It’s been such a warm winter that I think most of us forgot what it was like to wear a coat.  This was the first day it was cold out, and that jacket was perfection!

I paired my favorite leather leggings by Alice + Olivia because I think the leather complimented the richness of the coat, and I liked the way the leather in the belt coordinated with the pants.  You could wear black jeans also, but I happen to like the way the leather kept the look elevated! Especially for the Biltmore Estate, this outfit was comfortable for walking around a bit and then nice enough to wear to dinner.  I wish these booties were still in stock because they’re probably the most comfy pair of Christian Louboutin’s ever made.  Just keeping it real, but most of them are horribly uncomfortable.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love them and wear them, but it all depends on how much I’ll be walking when deciding whether or not to rock a pair of Loubi’s!  These booties are the perfect heel height, and the thicker heel gives you more stability and balance.  I love that this block heel is back in style!

Of course, I couldn’t resist this Valentino handbag.  I have obsessed over the Valentino ‘Va Va Voom’ bag because I love how you can slide your hand in the front.  It fits like a glove and is so comfortable to carry like that.  The “rocker chic-ness” of this bag is off the charts…just sayin!

Lastly, I paired a stud earring with this look because of the fur collar of the jacket.  I hate having a high collared top, sweater or whatever and it interfere with a longer earring.  It’s really so annoying and uncomfortable!  I thought these were perfect because they keep the look edgy and have a little sparkle!

All around, it was such a fun day to see the largest home in America and walk around on a small portion of the 8,000 acres that are there.  You can also buy wine from their winery, which was a major plus for me!

Cheers,

Christian
