Bittersweet

I can’t imagine anyone on this planet not loving a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery in NYC or their banana pudding, for that matter.  Not only did I stop shopping to get a cupcake, I had some banana pudding too..when in New York, why not?!  I am definitely doing a juice cleanse in the next few days because it is time to reel it in!  I don’t know about y’all, but I ate so much for Thanksgiving, I still feel sick.  I literally ate Thanksgiving dinner 4 nights in a row.  I enjoyed every second of it though.  One of my friends who is an amazing cook deep fried a turkey, so I naturally felt right at home.

Anyway, back to New York and feeling stuffed.  This was actually my last day there and I had a reservation to eat at ABC Kitchen for lunch.  If any of you have ever been there, you know how adorable the decor is and how much it beams rustic elegance.  There are white tables with French country chairs and mis-matched fine china at each place setting.  The lighting is magical with bare light bulbs hanging from the ceiling and candles on the tables, complete with flower arrangements scattered throughout.  I think it’s so cute that the wait staff wears plaid shirts and jeans.  They all look different and I think it’s such a neat touch.  And of course the food is divine!  One of my NYC all time favorites!  You have to go there next time you’re in the city, but be sure to make a res…you will not be disappointed!

To the main point, I wanted to wear this outfit for my lunch at ABC because I thought it was super girly with the floral print.  I was not about to wear it cropped (preparing for the lunch I was about to have ha!), so I put a fitted white button down shirt underneath and paired it with grey denim and over the knee boots for a polished casual look.  I wanted to bring out the pink, so I carried this light pink Valentino bag to add a feminine edge.  The Valentino bag is from Spring 2015, so here are some other lower price options that are available now.  This Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody or this one would also work perfectly with the outfit.  Be on the lookout for handbags in baby pink coming in for Spring 2016…pastels are going to be huge in accessories!

To make this look more nighttime, wear the cropped top with the matching skirt, put on these Valentino shoes, carry this Stella McCartney bag, and hit the town!

xoxo,

Christian
